How to Fit Your Skincare and 189 Outfits in One Bag

A task more daunting than trying to fit all your clothes, skincare, beauty, and haircare into one 49-pound suitcase?
Honestly, I don’t think one exists.
I’ve been there - many times. Frantically pulling pieces out of my bag while the ticket agent silently judges my overpacking and questionable folding method.
But lucky for you, I’ve cracked the code. This is my no-meltdown, no-outfit-left-behind method that’s saved me on every trip.
For any getaway under a week, I live by the 3-piece rule.
Stick to three of each clothing item:
shirts, pants, skirts, jackets, shoes - plus dresses, if you need or want them.
Then pick just three colors to build your wardrobe around.
It gives you structure and creative freedom - plus, you’ll have exactly 189 outfit combos to play with. You can’t go wrong!!
Below are a few of my go-to staples that I never leave without:
1. The Travel Set
I need to be comfortable when I travel, but I still want to look “chic”. This set is one of my favorites - pair it with cute flats and a cozy sweater and you’re golden. I love that you can mix and match both pieces all trip long!
Kristen Linen Two-Piece – Reformation
2. Go-To Jeans
I get compliments every time I wear these. They’re perfect with heels or sandals and work for both casual and dressed-up moments.
The Long Loose Jeans – Re/Done
3. Flats
Flats are back (thankfully), and I hope they never leave. These are comfy, compact, versatile, and elevate every look!
Studded Ballet Flats – Revolve
4. Lightweight Sweater
No matter the destination, there’s always a moment when you need a sweater. This one is soft, light, and layers perfectly over the shoulders or with a pair of jeans for dinner. I like to pack one (or in a few in different colors..)
Cashmere Shrunken Crewneck – J.Crew
5. Statement Accessories
Sometimes when you’re tight on suitcase space, you need to let your accessories do the work. A good necklace can transform a simple outfit into something special. I’m currently loving this one:
Let me know where you’re headed this summer, if these packing tips help, and remember - Dew or Dry is TSA-friendly. ;)
